The key allows you to open the door to your village and provides hope for the people living there. People from all over the world come to your town looking for specific items to buy. You need to work hard and succeed as you play the game. You don't control which battles the exploratory parties fight; instead you manage what your village needs. This means automatically completing any remaining tasks beyond village-related tasks. Because many factors affect the development of the village, developing it takes a long time. This is common in games where progress in management is involved.

The first thing you need to do when beginning Dungeon Village 2 is receive the information you receive. Don’t ignore any information because not only is ignoring information important to the game, but many of the mechanics you need to know how to perform in the game. Because of this, you’ll know what to do when you start playing the game. Inside the game are three sections: Food and Drink, Stores and Equipment. You must first build a Weapon Store on any unclaimed land. People wandering the world much like wandering NPCs. You can’t direct them, but you understand that they should choose a location. Any visitor to the village can instantly calculate how much gold they’ll receive after each visit to the shops. As long as the game is in operation, the village will always have enough money to itself. Anyone can easily attract new inhabitants to their village; there are many creative ways to do this aside from building a bustling community.

Increased revenue is due to the increased number of adventurers that come to the village. This is tracked by the village’s stats in the lower right corner of the screen. Focus on maintaining your village when deciding which event to participate in. Each event must be selected and completed in a specific amount of time. This choice requires maintaining town points. Consequently, the next task is to keep participating in the selected event. Hosts need to ready their facilities for several guests when an event draws nearby crowds. This is because many people will choose to attend the event.

Other games use a similar method of progression to your town's fame. One reason your town grows is because of its popularity index. In Dungeon Village 2, villagers earn ranks by collecting resources. Currently, none of the villagers have ranks, and that will change when players gather enough resources. Higher ranking provides access to new game elements and stat modifications. A village earns a star when their popularity goes up. This increase in status leads to increased popularity. Besides the basic building materials necessary for construction, additional elements can be added to a business. This leads to more responsibilities involved with running these moneymaking ventures.

KiroSoft's first release was a fantasy town building game that lasted 8 years. They released a second version with additional content, called Dungeon Village 2, which introduced more features and graphics improvements.
